Farm Income Diversification Programme II (FIDP II) is an integrated development programme that seeks to deal with a number of challenges. It seeks to stop and reverse the decline of the natural resource base, as well as to reduce post-harvest losses and increase agro-processing.

With a total of €23,030,600 drawn from the 10th European Development Fund (EDF), the overall objective of FIDP II is to contribute to the reduction of poverty in Malawi.

The Financing Agreement for the programme was signed by Gary Quince, European Commission Authorising Officer of the EDF, on 30th November 2009, in Brussels, Belgium. Former Ambassador of the Republic of Malawi to Brussels, Brave Ndisale, signed the documents on behalf of the Government of Malawi on 11th November 2009.
